DEBRA IRELAND

EB is a distressing and painful genetic skin condition causing skin layers and internal body linings to separate and blister at the slightest touch. Children born with EB have skin that is as fragile as the wings of a butterfly - and as easily damaged. As yet there is no cure and no effective treatment.

For some children, EB can be fatal. Debra Ireland is working towards a life free of pain for EB sufferers. Debra Ireland funds medical and support services for EB sufferers and their families.

FIGHTING BLINDNESS

There are few disabilities more devastating to the quality of life than the loss of one's sight. Yet the difficulties faced by 65,000 Irish adults and children affected by Retinal Degenerations are largely unknown.

For over 20 years Fighting Blindness has remained the only Irish charity totally committed to funding Irish research, investigating treatments and cures for all forms of blindness. The charity funds eight ground-breaking projects in six centres around Ireland. With this world-leading research bringing exciting new developments, we are confident a cure is within reach. Fighting Blindness also provides an information & counselling service.
