Imagine getting fit, raising money for charity, making new friends, and experiencing some of the most breathtaking landscapes of County Kerry all at the same time. That’s what’s involved in the
C4C Kerry Challenge 2006 sponsored by Lowe Alpine - and we
want you to be a part of it.

From Friday 16th to Sunday 18th June 2006, eighty teams of four
will trek for up to 75 km through magnificent sections of the diverse Kerry, Dingle and Beara Ways. All sponsorship raised will go to the charities DEBRA Ireland and Fighting Blindness.

Why take on the challenge?

You will experience an amazing sense of personal achievement
and team bonding along with the unforgettable exhilaration of trekking through some of Ireland’s most beautiful scenery. Plus
the chance to get fit, win one of many great prizes and gain a
great sense of fulfilment from knowing that you’re making a difference to the lives of those affected by blindness or
Epidermolysis Bullosa.

How can I enter a team?

You can register online at www.c4c.ie or contact us on 01 677 6856 for a registration form. Each team member pays a registration fee of €150 (€600 per team), and together your team will fundraise a minimum of €2,950 in sponsorship. Once you have registered, we
will support you with your fundraising and training.

How fit do I need to be?

This is a challenge for everyone, from the averagely fit to the highly competitive.

• Accommodation in excellent hotels
• Meals and snacks from Friday lunch to Sunday dinner
• Great team prizes
• Medical backup and services

Routes

16/06/06: The Beara Way

Peaks and valleys are today’s theme as you trek a section of the Beara Way on the southernmost peninsula of Kerry. Starting near Bunane, your route takes you through four valleys, hills and lakes including stunning coastal views, with lunch in a sacred stone circle, before finishing at Killmacalogue Pier.

17/06/06: The Dingle Way

Brush up on your Irish heritage as you venture into the historic Gaeltacht. Trekking along Sli Chorca Dhuibhne (the Dingle Way)
and Sli na Naomh (the Way of the Saint), a route linking the sites
of numerous ancient ruins, you will finish at Tig TP on the shores
of Smerwick Harbour.

18/06/06: The Kerry Way

On this final day of your challenge you will trek through one of Ireland’s most beautiful places, the Glencar Valley. Following a section of the Kerry Way, the route takes in the stunning Caragh River and Lake and ends magically as we reach Rossbeigh beach,
the place where legend has it that Oisín himself was last seen heading west to Tir na nOg.
